Associate professor Yu and Doctor Yan went to Kyoto, Japan and
participated in 2013 JSAP-MRS joint symposia on September 15-19, 2013.
The Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) and the Materials
Research Society (MRS) were excited to jointly sponsor multiple symposia as
part of the 2013 JSAP Autumn Meeting, which was held in Kyoto, Japan on
September 16-20, 2013.
The 2013 JSAP Autumn Meeting in Kyoto offered a wide range of
research topics in materials research, which include for the first time 23
joint JSAP-MRS symposia in addition there was a Fred Kavli Distinguished
Lecture in Nanoscience.
Meeting gathered experts, academics, company representatives from
around the world for up to three thousand people. The MRS-JSAP has a total of
more than a dozen seminar venue , a number of topics related to nano-materials,
ferroelectric materials , oxide films, smart materials , photovoltaic ,
photocatalysis and so on.
Cu-based ternary chalcopyrite photovoltaic materials, including CIS
( copper indium selenide ) and CIGS ( copper indium gallium selenide ) and
other such material is recognized as the most promising thin-film solar cell
materials . CIGS cell efficiency has reached 20.3%, but the use of expensive
CIGS scarce indium, gallium, so development is limited. So CZTS (copper-zinc
tin sulfur) instead of CIGS as a light-absorbing layer becomes an international
hotspot. Japanese research group prepared using the sputtering sulfide CZTS
battery reaches 6.7 % efficiency, while IBM Preparation of composite coating
technology CZTSSe ( copper zinc tin sulfur selenide ) cell efficiency reached
11.1% . More and more research groups have been prepared by various methods
CZTSSe battery. The other non-indium Cu-based chalcopyrite materials such as Cu2SnS3
(CTS) and Cu2SnSe3 (CTSe), has also been of great
concern.
In recent years, our department Superconductivity and New Energy
Research and Development Center has made a number of innovative researches in
the study of thin film CIGS solar cells. By participating in this international
conference, our results of the researches on CZTSe battery materials have be
shown in an international showcase and we expanded the visibility of our
school. I believe that our future research direction in CZTSe batteries will
play an active role in guiding.
