Yutaka Yamada, graduated from Tokyo University in 1981, and then entered Toshiba, R&D center. In 2000, he moved to ISTEC (International Superconductivity Technology and Engineering Center, Tokyo, Japan, a national research institute under Ministry of International Technology and Industry) to develop YBCO coated conductor. In 2017 April, he determined to move to SSTC. During these work (almost 35 years), he has done following achievements: effective invents such as Ag sheath wire, Bi-Pb powder materials and so on, which is indispensable for Bi2223 wire; Development of effective PLD and IBAD method for long YBCO tape fabrication and effective artificial pinning centers.
